Despite facing criticism for their vocals during their Coachella debut, K-pop group LE SSERAFIM returned for a performance aimed at redemption. However, along with receiving praise, rumors of lipsyncing also began to circulate.
LE SSERAFIM Praised for Improved Live Vocals at Their 2nd Coachella Stage
During the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, USA, on April 20 (local time), LE SSERAFIM performed for the second time. Despite facing pressure, the group delivered an even better stage performance with their live vocals.
Regrettably, there were still some music enthusiasts who were not impressed, particularly with the allegations that the band lip synced.
On April 14, LE SSERAFIM made their debut at Coachella and became the quickest K-pop girl group to receive an invitation to this renowned music festival.
Regrettably, their live singing performance, a crucial skill that K-pop idols are expected to possess, was met with mockery due to its perceived instability and disappointment.
During the second week of the event, the girl group was granted a chance to have their “revenge”stage once again. They delivered powerful performances of their popular songs, including “FEARLESS,””ANTIFRAGILE,””UNFORGIVEN,””Perfect Night,””EASY,””Smart,”and more.

In this performance, LE SSERAFIM exuded a more laid-back demeanor through their facial expressions and gestures, while still exuding their energetic stage presence and confident charm.
Fans praised their live vocals for becoming more stable, as they were able to hit high notes and handle difficult parts with ease.
LE SSERAFIM Accused of Lipsyncing
Despite initial hopes that it would erase the group’s past regrets, a new controversy emerged after K-pop fans, who tuned in to the live stream, noticed instances where the members’ voices could still be heard even when they were not using their microphones to sing.

that’s the backtrack boosted to level 500 and mic off, what live vocals? https://t.co/aCzxG69aRM

Despite singing into their microphones, their voices were still unable to be heard in one particular instance, leading to accusations that they had utilized the technique of louder AR. This technique involves playing pre-recorded sound sources as if they were being performed live.
Although lipsyncing is a popular technique among K-pop idols, particularly during major events, the Coachella stage prioritizes live vocals. As a result, fans were once again let down by the group.
the fimmies not singing on purpose for some parts to show that this is live & the difference between the backtrack and their voices 😹💗 pic.twitter.com/AGkc4uQpta

Lesserafim didn’t lipsync, but don’t deny they got loud LAR(Live All Recorded) backtrack vocals.they didn’t showcase pure raw live vocals. don’t fool yourselves. the good thing is they did better than their last week’s performance.

Despite this, a larger number of fans have come to a consensus that LE SSERAFIM showed significant improvement in their second performance and are eagerly anticipating their upcoming stages.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming performances of their favorite group, including their fan meeting, “FEARNADA 2024 S/S,”taking place at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul on May 11th and 12th. Following this event, the group plans to head to Japan in June to continue their fan meetings.
