A woman was stunned to be reunited with her 115-year-old wedding ring after it slipped off her finger and sank into the depths of a sprawling Texas lake. This remarkable recovery was made possible by the dedicated efforts of a local dive and rescue company.

The chain of events began after Jack O’Lynn Page lost her precious jewelry during a visit to Possum Kingdom Lake, as revealed in a Facebook post by Blue Diver Search and Recovery on June 24. Page shared the story of her treasured ring, which dates back to 1910, and the circumstances surrounding its loss.

“We spent a fantastic weekend at the lake with our baseball team. Although I’m usually not a fan of swimming in lakes, the atmosphere with friends was lively, ” Page recounted.“However, the fun took an unexpected turn when I realized my wedding ring had vanished!”

After numerous attempts by her fellow baseball team members to recover the ring proved fruitless, a parent suggested enlisting the help of a professional diver. This decision ultimately led to the involvement of a skilled recovery expert.

Exploring Possum Kingdom Lake

The incident took place at Possum Kingdom Lake, a man-made reservoir in Texas characterized by over 300 miles of shoreline and depths reaching 100 feet. Given the challenging nature of the underwater search, it was akin to searching for a needle in a haystack. Nonetheless, one diver committed to exhaustive efforts to recover the ring.

“Ryan Prigmore from Blue Diver Search and Recovery took on the task that day, ” Page said.“He scoured the lake for hours, but faced difficult weather and water conditions that complicated the search.”

On the following Monday, Prigmore returned with renewed determination. After an extensive search throughout the day, he successfully retrieved the ring, sharing a picture of it—finally back above water—where it rightfully belonged.
