The latest episode of My Hero Academia, season 7 episode 11, delivered a devastating blow as the beloved Katsuki Bakugo sustained a critical injury during his fight against Shigaraki/AFO. This turn of events has left fans wondering if he managed to survive the brutal attack.
Despite being seriously injured by Shigaraki in the previous episode, Bakugo surprised everyone on the battlefield by bravely persevering through his pain in an attempt to finally defeat the infamous villain.
Despite the joint efforts of Bakugo and the heroes of U.A. High, they were unable to defeat Shigaraki, who unleashed a destructive assault on Bakugo in the final moments of episode 11 in season 7 of My Hero Academia. While Bakugo did temporarily perish from the attack, which caused severe damage to his heart, viewers can take comfort in knowing that the character will ultimately survive thanks to the intervention of Pro Hero Edgeshot.
Explaining how Bakugo survived Shigaraki’s attack in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11
The final moments of My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11, known as a cliffhanger, left the majority of the fanbase who only follow the anime in a state of shock and sadness. The fate of the cherished character Katsuki Bakugo appeared to be sealed as he faced off against Tomura Shigaraki/AFO. To add to the emotional turmoil, the episode also revealed a touching backstory for Bakugo, revealing a more sensitive and tender side to his character.
Just before his “demise”, Bakugo successfully executed his Cluster attack on Shigaraki/AFO’s body, proving that it was one of the few attacks capable of inflicting lasting damage on the villain.
Despite Shigaraki/AFO previously dismissing Bakugo as a “nobody”, the latter’s ability to inflict significant damage only fueled the villain’s rage. As Bakugo closed in, Shigaraki landed a lethal punch that tore his heart to shreds and ultimately claimed his life.
However, fans can take comfort in the fact that Bakugo’s journey in the series did not come to an end with My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11. The character was ultimately revived by Shinya Kamihara, also known as the Pro Hero Edgeshot.
Upon understanding the situation with Bakugo, the Pro Heroes identified Edgeshot as the sole individual capable of saving his life. Recognizing Bakugo’s ability to decipher Shigaraki’s tactics and engage him in combat, Edgeshot acknowledged the significance of Bakugo’s presence in turning the tide of the battle and made the bold decision to sacrifice himself for his sake.
Despite his vast understanding of the human anatomy and his powerful Foldabody Quirk, Edgeshot pushed himself to the brink of death in order to transform into a substitute heart for Bakugo. He justified his sacrifice by believing that Bakugo’s role in defeating Shigaraki/AFO was crucial, as his Cluster attack was the only effective method of inflicting harm on the nearly indestructible foe.
Fortunately, in chapter 405 of My Hero Academia, it was confirmed that Edgeshot was still alive. He proceeded to inform the heroes that he had used his own body to ensure that Bakugo’s internal organs remained intact and assured them that they would not become tangled.
Despite saving Bakugo from certain death, Edgeshot cautioned him that every breath he took would cause excruciating pain to his body.
Despite this fact, Bakugo appeared unfazed as he utilized his second lease on life to rescue his childhood idol All Might from the grasp of All For One, ultimately bringing an end to the villain, at least temporarily.
