Dr Disrespect has made his return to the streaming scene, revealing “the truth” behind his Twitch ban, admitting to sending inappropriate DMs to a minor back in 2017.
In June, former Twitch employees publicly shared their insights regarding Dr Disrespect’s ban, alleging that he had sent messages to an underage user via the platform’s Whispers feature.
After facing repercussions, including losing his gaming studio and other business ventures, Dr Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, confirmed that the allegations were accurate.
“Were there Twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages? Absolutely not. These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more,” he stated in a since-deleted tweet.
However, he pledged to return to streaming after enjoying an extended break with his family. Following weeks of cryptic hints, he announced his comeback on September 5 with a video depicting him racing in a speedboat towards his “arena.”
On September 6, Beahm streamed live on YouTube titled “THE TRUTH,” where he played Call of Duty Black Ops 6 while discussing his side of the narrative.

After initially playing Wordle, Dr Disrespect expressed that he wasn’t overly nervous to be back “to a certain degree.”
He also mentioned his plans to reapply for YouTube Partnership on September 25 in order to regain his monetization abilities.
“People ask, ‘Now that you’re not monetized, you’re never gonna be streaming on YouTube again, are you?’ There’s an opportunity to re-apply. So in the meantime, we’ll do what we need to do. I enjoy my time here on YouTube. We’ve built a nice, strong community for years. This is where we started, 16 years ago,” he explained.
Dr Disrespect called out the former Twitch staff member, Cody Connors, for disclosing the allegations, contending that Connors lacked direct knowledge of the incident.
“Apparently, Twitch’s disgruntled employees didn’t feel the need to abide by those obligations. Cody Connors, ex-Twitch employee, wasn’t even involved in leaking Twitch’s reported reason. Years later. Cody, why do this? What was the point? This was settled professionally,” he said.
“I never intended to meet this user, ever. We never made plans to meet at TwitchCon or anywhere else. We never met in person, ever. Your false accusations emboldened other Twitch employees to fabricate stories as well,” he added, indicating a coordinated attack against him. Dr Disrespect also mentioned that Twitch’s trust and safety team internally confirmed that the whisper messages did not involve sexting, emphasizing, “[We] never exchanged graphic texts and images.”
Dr Disrespect finally broke his silence regarding his Twitch ban.
He accused Twitch of harboring a vendetta against him, asserting that he was the “face” of the platform but “never received front-page love.”
“It was so obvious that he carried a grudge against the two-time,” he remarked, referring to his former partner manager. “That ex-Twitch partner manager was directly involved in getting me banned.”
Moreover, he revealed that he was compelled to lay off staff at his game studio, Midnight Society, while continuing to criticize Connors for his actions during the situation.
“I’m in such a good place today, and all these people act like they’re just so perfect. I’m not perfect. I don’t claim to be perfect. …but I also didn’t do all the stuff they’re saying I did. But then, that doesn’t make a story, right?”
Dr Disrespect stated he has “more to disclose,” but for now, he would not elaborate further on the matter.
