On the same day that Dr Disrespect’s previous game development company, Midnight Society, announced its closure, the popular streamer revealed some exciting news: YouTube has reinstated the monetization of his channel.
In a notable incident from early 2024, YouTube had demonetized Dr Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, following allegations made by former Twitch employees. They claimed that he had faced a permanent ban on Twitch due to inappropriate messages sent to an underage individual.
After taking a brief break from streaming, Dr Disrespect reemerged on YouTube, where he accused Twitch staff of manipulating the situation and misrepresenting the messages he had communicated.
Initially, YouTube upheld its decision to keep his channel demonetized. This led Beahm to explore opportunities with the competitor Rumble in December 2024, where he spearheaded its gaming division.
Fast forward nearly six months, Dr Disrespect has announced that YouTube has opted to reverse its earlier decision, allowing him to monetize his streams once more.
YouTube Reinstates Dr Disrespect’s Monetization Rights
During a broadcast on January 30, Dr Disrespect shared the news with his audience, expressing his excitement over the development. He declared, “Monetization is back, ” highlighting the need to adjust certain donation policies on the platform.
“We have to regulate certain things regarding donations on YouTube, but I’ll have everything fixed and cleared up by tomorrow. But ladies and gentlemen, we got our f**king YouTube monetization back, ” he exclaimed.

Dr Disrespect remarked on the peculiar coincidence of Midnight Society’s closure coinciding with his monetization reinstatement, noting it was a “weird world.”
Following the emergence of allegations against Beahm, Midnight Society and Dr Disrespect opted to part ways, joining numerous other organizations in distancing themselves from him during that time.
The reactivated monetization will likely provide significant benefits as the streamer navigates challenges with dwindling viewership at the start of 2025. His audience engagement on Rumble has notably declined since his switch, and January marked his lowest viewership metrics on YouTube throughout his career.
