Dr. STONE, which has gained a large and loyal fan base since its debut, first aired in Japan in July 2019. As it celebrates its fifth anniversary, a significant milestone, the official website for the anime has revealed a special visual by Takashi Muratani, the chief animation director, to mark this momentous event.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Dr. Stone TV anime series, a new key visual has been revealed showcasing the main characters including Senku, Mecha Senku, Ryusui, Chrome, Gen, Kohaku, Suika, Tsukasa, and Ukyo.
The initial season of ‘Dr. STONE’ made its debut in Japan on July 5, 2019, and has since been followed by three more seasons. We are now anxiously anticipating the 5th-anniversary project, a spectacular event called the Dr. STONE 2024 Ishi no Utage (Stone Festival), which is scheduled to occur on August 11 at the renowned Tokyo International Forum Hall C. This exceptional occasion guarantees to be an electrifying tribute to the show, brimming with intriguing revelations and delights for its devoted audience.
To celebrate its 5th anniversary, a variety of exclusive ‘Dr. STONE‘ fifth anime anniversary merchandise will be sold at the Animate Fair, a temporary event taking place from August 24, 2024, to September 16, 2024.
Following the end of the second cour of Dr. STONE: Stone Wars, the fourth and final season, Dr. STONE: Science Future, was revealed. The production team for Science Future consists of director Shuuhei Matsushita (known for Kamisama Kiss), series screenwriter and scriptwriter Yuuichiro Kido (who also worked on Fruits Basket), character designer Mayuko Iwasa, and main animator Hiroyuki Horiuchi.
Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and Yuki Kanesaka were the music composers for the series, while Shinya Iino directed the first two seasons. The overall animation production was handled by TMS Entertainment, a highly regarded animation studio, who played a vital role in bringing the world of Dr. STONE to life.

The Dr. Stone manga series was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022. As of April 2024, 27 tankobon volumes have been published. Viz Media also publishes the English version of the Dr. Stone manga, with the synopsis described as follows:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues.
