Dune 2: 5 intense minutes revealed before the film’s release

While waiting for the release of Dune 2, five minutes of the feature film have been revealed, showing Timothée Chalamet taming a gigantic sandworm.

After the success of the first part by Denis Villeneuve, Dune 2 is eagerly awaited by spectators. The story of Frank Herbert’s novels, reputed to be impossible to adapt to the cinema, has nevertheless found its audience on the big web.

A five-star cast, a director with an ambitious vision supported by a solid budget, titanic and burning sets: Dune convinced the spectators who came to take a look, and even became an event release in 2021. And the good news had already been announced at the time: it was only the beginning!

Dune 2 is now preparing to hit theaters, and to calm spectators’ impatience a little, 5 minutes of the film have been revealed.

What are five short minutes, in 2h46 of a feature film? Sometimes it’s a lot. Colossal, even, like the sandworm which is the star here.

Often mentioned in the first part, never shown in their entirety, considered as monsters or deities, the sandworms of Arrakis are undoubtedly one of the most impressive parts of the lore of Dune. We cannot evolve on the desiccated planet while ignoring these creatures haloed with power and mystery.

In the five minutes of a recently published video, Paul Atréides, played by Timothée Chalamet, must prove himself: to show that he lives up to the Fremen’s expectations, he will have to climb on a sandworm. The sequence is dizzying and captivating, and these five short minutes of preview seem to clearly set the tone: the next part of Dune aims to be grandiose.

Dune: Part Two will be released in theaters on February 28, 2024.
