Elden Ring’s highly anticipated Nightreign Patch 1.02 has been postponed due to tsunami threats in Japan, where the game’s developer, FromSoftware, is located. The nation has remained on high alert following a powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck off the Russian coast on July 29, advocating for safety precautions.
In light of these severe weather warnings, FromSoftware officially announced the delay on July 30. The Nightreign update, which was set to launch across all platforms on the same day, has now been rescheduled to July 31.
“Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02, ” the developer posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the ‘ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN’ Patch 1.02, which was scheduled for today to tomorrow, July 31 (Thursday) after 10:00 CEST | 1:00 PDT.

What’s New in Nightreign Patch 1.02?
The upcoming Patch 1.02 is set to kick off a new series of Everdark Sovereign Expeditions while also introducing a long-awaited feature that players have been requesting since Nightreign’s release in May: duos mode.
Upon its launch, this multiplayer-focused Elden Ring spin-off faced critique for offering only solo or trio play formats. Currently, players cannot join sessions as a duo of Nightfarers, a limitation that has frustrated many. While PC players have access to fan-made mods enabling duo play, console gamers have been left without this option.
Now confirmed for release, Patch 1.02 will go live on July 31 at 10 AM EST / 1 PM PST / 9 AM BST across all platforms. This update isn’t just about duos; it will also unveil the Everdark Sovereign Maris, Fathom of Night, and likely introduce several balance tweaks to enhance gameplay.
