Those who have successfully navigated the treacherous Land of Shadow and reached the end of their journey in Shadow of the Erdtree had strong opinions to share about the DLC’s final boss.
Since its release on June 21, Elden Ring’s massive expansion has received widespread praise, even though there has been some discussion about its initial performance and confusion about how Scadutree Fragments contribute to the game’s progression.
Promised Consort Radahn is yet another addition to the list of hot topics.
A post on Reddit, bringing attention to the struggles of renowned player Let Me Solo Her against the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree, has sparked a discussion on the matter.
The main concerns mentioned in repeated complaints were the extensive use of combo strings and the high stakes of making any errors.
The boss in Consort is not enjoyable to play. It is disorganized and the time given for players to perform actions is very limited. I highly doubt I will return to Consort in future playthroughs.
“Consort was the only instance during the games where I actually changed my build. It wasn’t because it was difficult, but because it wasn’t enjoyable.”
The second phase, in particular, was highlighted by others as the main cause of frustration and difficulty:
“The second phase of this boss is arguably one of FromSoft’s most challenging in recent years. Simply stating that it is possible to defeat him does not necessarily make him an enjoyable boss.”
The boss they have designed is undoubtedly the least impressive one so far. It is a complete disaster and not enjoyable to face. The initial phase is acceptable, and had they made slight modifications to it for the latter part, it would have been excellent. However, they failed to do so.
“Even at Scadutree level 20, Radahn/Miquella is a chaotic and unbalanced AoE visual mess that makes me question how FromSoft could have designed it.”
If you haven’t faced the final boss in Shadow of the Erdtree, it’s recommended to collect as many Scadutree Fragments as you can before doing so. Have you not yet reached Promised Consort Radahn?
