One-shot snipers are incredibly effective in Warzone, but finding the ideal weapon to pair with them can be challenging. Fortunately, a newly buffed SMG has emerged as the top choice for sniper support, outpacing the competition.
During the Season 5 Reloaded update, the Static-HV experienced a significant nerf, creating a noticeable gap in the close-range meta. As a result, many players were left questioning what to use alongside their Sniper Rifles.
If you’re among those players, the Striker could be the solution to your problems. The SMG, recognized as the UMP45 from MW2, received a substantial buff in the mid-season patch, significantly enhancing its performance compared to other firearms in its class.
Warzone expert WhoImmortal analyzed the TTKs (time-to-kill) of the leading SMGs on his YouTube channel, revealing that the Striker surpassed the rest by a considerable margin.
After the buff to its damage ranges, it was discovered that the UMP outperformed the FJX Horus, WSP-9, and Superi 46 beyond the 20-meter mark, which is a critical distance for sniper support weapons.
The closest competitor was the nerfed Static-HV, yet it could not compete with the impressive 900ms TTK that the Striker achieved at 30 meters.
In my own tests with the Striker using the best loadout, I found it to be exceptionally powerful at mid-range, often allowing me to match Assault Rifles in scenarios where a Sniper Rifle wouldn’t be suitable.
Additionally, it excels at close range. While it may not match the rapid fire rate or quick TTK of some other SMGs in the zero to 10 meters category, it performs reliably, and I rarely felt at a disadvantage.
If you’re opting for a sniper instead of an Assault Rifle or LMG, it’s crucial to pair it with a versatile weapon, and the Striker meets those needs perfectly.
As for the sniper, WhoImmortal recommends the Kar98k, which has remained effective since its return to Warzone. However, other one-shot options like the KATT-AMR or MORS can also be great choices.
