In an exciting promotion, Tokyo Metro has transformed one of its most heavily trafficked routes into a grand showcase for Ditto, coinciding with the much-anticipated launch of Pokémon Pokopia for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Beginning on March 2, the Hanzomon Line, known for its distinctive purple color, will feature a vibrant Ditto-themed takeover, running until March 15. This remarkable collaboration marks the first instance of fully customized trains being dedicated to a single advertisement on this line, as highlighted in the press release from Tokyo Metro.

Experience the Magic of Ditto on the Hanzomon Line

The partnership was strategically chosen since the Japanese name for Ditto, “Metamon, ” phonetically resonates with “Hanzomon.” Coupled with the line’s signature purple hue mirroring Ditto’s own color scheme, this collaboration perfectly blends the worlds of public transport and Pokémon.

Commuters can expect to see a plethora of Ditto-themed elements throughout the trains, including:

  • Vibrant Ditto graphics adorning handrails
  • Purple seating reminiscent of Ditto’s iconic body
  • Large Ditto signage prominently displayed within carriages
  • Platforms dyed in purple to complement the overall theme

The themed promotions will also extend to key stations, including Oshiage (Skytree-mae), Hanzomon, and Shibuya, from March 2 to March 8, with some installations at Shibuya remaining until March 15. This initiative not only enhances the passenger experience but also ushers in a new era of interactive advertising.

This isn’t the only Pokémon collaboration making waves in 2026. Earlier in February, The Pokémon Company announced a partnership with All Nippon Airways to introduce themed aircraft, as part of a broader celebration of the brand’s ongoing anniversary festivities.
