The Esports Awards has entered into a three-year partnership with the Esports World Cup to host the show in the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The 2024 Esports Awards have returned for another year. This event will honor the top performers in the industry from the previous year, including players, publishers, videographers, journalists, and other notable individuals.
The 2024 Esports Awards, which have been scheduled for August 24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will now coincide with the last days of the mega esports tournament in 2024, 2025, and 2026, thanks to the partnership agreement with EWC.
This marks the event’s inaugural venture into the Middle East, as all previous exhibitions have been held in Europe and North America.
The nomination process for the awards has not yet begun, but voting for award finalists will commence on June 27.
The 2023 Esports Awards took place in Las Vegas in November, where Team Vitality and T1 were honored as the Esports Organization and Esports Team of the Year winners, respectively.
The same award show also recognized two members of Evil Geniuses as individual award winners: Max ‘Demon1′ Mazanov as Breakthrough Player of the Year, and Christine ‘Potter’ Chi as Coach of the Year.
The awards committee also bestowed the titles of Esports Player of the Year to G2 Esports’ Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov and Esports Journalist of the Year to Richard Lewis for the third time.
The Esports Awards have previously collaborated with Saudi Arabia through their support in promoting the annual golf tournament via LIV Golf in 2023.
The Esports World Cup, previously known as Gamers8, has been transformed into an even bigger tournament series in 2024. It will kick off on July 3 and will showcase a wide range of high-profile titles, including League of Legends and Fortnite, with backing from Saudi Arabia.
The organization has also begun providing financial support to multiple esports organizations in order to assist them in recruiting additional teams and players.
