Every Deadpool Variant in Deadpool & Wolverine Explained

You patiently wait for a single Deadpool to appear, but suddenly 100 show up at once. To clarify, here is a comprehensive list of all the different versions of Deadpool that have been seen in Deadpool & Wolverine.

It has been six years since the masked hero graced our screens, making it understandable why Ryan Reynolds may have chosen to heavily feature Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine.

In the new Marvel movie, there is an appearance of over 100 Deadpools. Along with the Deadpool Corps, there are also several cleverly hidden Easter eggs waiting to be discovered.

Despite their lack of assistance, all of the Deadpool variants in Deadpool & Wolverine have a purpose for being there. Are you prepared to be bewildered? Below is a list of every Deadpool variant that appears in the movie, but be warned: spoilers lie ahead!

Nicepool

Prior to the appearance of the remaining 100 variants, Deadpool and Wolverine encounter Nicepool while escaping from the supervillain, Cassandra Nova, also known as The Void.

Imagine searching on Google and finding some amazing pools, and then picturing Reynolds in his iconic red suit with his handsome appearance and long, flowing hair…plus a stylish man bun.

The superhero duo receives a gift from him in the form of his Honda Odyssey, as he is the official Papa of Mary Puppins, also known as Dogpool, and offers it for the next part of their journey.

There is no need for post-film research as Nicepool does not appear in any Deadpool comics.

Dogpool

One of the most extensively recorded versions among the group is Dogpool, who has wholeheartedly embraced her decision to join our Deadpool instead of Nicepool and is now living her best life.

In the comic books, Dogpool originates from Earth-103173 where he was initially utilized as an experimental animal for the Mascara X project, which has the ability to constantly replenish itself. Upon the arrival of 616 Deadpool, Dogpool was enlisted into the Deadpool Corps and together they embarked on a journey to Earth-20110.

Despite the chaos caused by the Mimepool incident, Dogpool remained a true Corps member and attempted to prevent the evil version of Deadpool from killing him, sacrificing his own life in the process.

However, there is no need to fret! The real Dogpool leads a joyous existence in Deadpool & Wolverine, as all of the different versions adore her. She is portrayed by Peggy, who is often jokingly called Britain’s Ugliest Dog.

The Story of Lady Deadpool

There has been much speculation surrounding the character of Lady Deadpool, who has been rumored to make a cameo appearance since the release of the new movie trailers. She is the leader of over 100 other Deadpools, all determined to prevent our two heroes from interfering with Cassandra Nova’s plans.

If you prefer to remain unaware of the answer, please avert your eyes now. However, it is worth noting that the character is portrayed by Reynolds’ real-life spouse, Blake Lively. While none of the Pools’ disguises are revealed, all is revealed during the end credits.

Wanda Wilson, also known as the mercenary Deadpool, made her debut in the comic series Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #7 in 2010. Prior to joining the Corps, she was a fighter for the resistance on her own Earth.

Wade’s female counterpart also possesses the same abilities, such as regenerative healing. It is revealed that all versions of Deadpool possess this ability, except for Nicepool.

Kidpool

Wade Wilson, also known as Kidpool, hails from Earth-10330 and began his journey as a student at the Xavier Orphanage for Troubled Boys (does the name ring a bell?). Despite a tumultuous childhood, he was eventually recruited by the Corps at the age of 16.

Initially introduced in Prelude to Deadpool Corps #2, Kidpool made regular appearances in comic books from 2010 to 2013. He has continued to be a beloved character among fans and is even portrayed by one of Reynolds’ children, specifically Inez, in this adaptation.

Babypool

Who would bring an infant to a showdown between superhero movies? Only Deadpools, of course. However, the newborn variant is joining Deadpool and Wolverine in the midst of battle, and he doesn’t have much to say just yet.

The game of Babypool is kept within the family as it is played by Olin Reynolds.

Headpool

Despite being infected with the zombie plague on Earth-2149, Headpool has faced numerous challenges. While very little is known about his life beforehand, it is presumed that it was similar to that of 616.

Dubbed the “Merc with only half a Mouth,” Headpool makes a brief appearance in the film as he flies out of a portal conjured by Nova. The extent of the damage he sustained during the Deadpool-on-Deadpool battle remains uncertain, but let’s face it, he doesn’t have much to lose anyway.

Iron Deadpool

It’s no surprise: this character is a mix of Iron Man and Deadpool. He’s not prominent in the comic books or the film, making his appearance a literal “blink-and-you’ll-miss-him”moment.

In Invincible Iron Man #20 and Iron Man #9 ‘Greg Land Deadpool Variant’, Iron Man and Deadpool’s paths have intersected.

Cowboy Deadpool

Surprisingly, the speculated upcoming cast member of Yellowstone is the man behind the mask of Cowboy Deadpool, showing that Kevin Costner has not taken a strange turn in the show. This confirms the previously rumored involvement of Matthew McConaughey in the cast.

Formerly known as the Deadpool Kid, he is first introduced in Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #7. He is later enlisted in the Deadpool Corps, having been sought after for charges of “bank robbery, arson, software piracy, and causing chaos with pygmy goats at an orphanage.”

Do you know who his bounty hunter was at that time? It was none other than Wolverine variant Logan.

Golden Age Deadpool

In case you are watching Deadpool and Wolverine and are curious about the gas mask worn by one of them, here is the explanation. The version of Deadpool from the Golden Age is also known as Frederick Wilson, or “Wheezy Wilson,”and hails from Earth-TRN245.

In 2010, we encountered him in Captain America: Who Won’t Wield the Shield #1. He was a fellow member of the Deadpool Corps who unfortunately met his demise at the hands of an evil Deadpool’s anti-regeneration ray (RIP).

Zenpool

At the rear of the group is Zenpool, who is in fact our 616 variation of Deadpool with a completely reversed personality.

During the events of 2014’s AXIS, Scarlet Witch and Dr. Doom performed an inversion spell on Genosha, resulting in a temporary period of peace for Zenpool. Instead of his usual violent lifestyle, he spent his time creating intricate patterns in his garden. This storyline is highly regarded as one of the most beloved spinoffs in the Deadpool universe.

Deadpool 2099

The origin of Deadpool 2099’s name is quite obvious: it is derived from their own Earth. Known as Warda Wilson, the character makes their first appearance in Deadpool (Vol. 6) #6.

Warda is the daughter of Wade Wilson from Earth-16356 and Shiklah, the Queen of the Underworld. Despite a tumultuous past, she eventually found reconciliation with her family of mutants.

Although unfortunately not shown in the movie, Deadpool 2099 utilizes a dragon as a mode of transportation.

Other Notable Deadpools

We may not have extensive knowledge about them, but a variety of notable Deadpool variants can be observed – a majority of which seem to be exact replicas of the 616 version, but from alternate dimensions.

Welshpool, also known as Welsh Deadpool, is believed to be a reference to Reynolds’ other real-life passion, Wrexham football club. He is expected to be one of the characters in the movie.

Samurai Deadpool is likely connected to Deadpool’s Tokyo escapades, as depicted in Deadpool: Samurai.

If one is feeling generous, one could consider Peter as a separate character from Deadpool, known as Peterpool. As shown in Deadpool & Wolverine, Peter has his own version of the suit stored in his work locker, in case it is ever needed.

Later, Peter steps in to defend Deadpool when the other variants appear. He manages to divert their attention long enough for our main duo to reach Nova within the allotted time. Deadpool is known for his fondness of Peters, in case you were unaware. Peter arrives just in time to witness their success and takes the opportunity to flirt with the TVA’s high-ranking official.

The movie Deadpool & Wolverine is currently showing in theaters. Discover additional information about its age restriction, the background of Wolverine, and the explanation of the post-credits scene. You can also browse through the list of new movies available for streaming this month.
