On May 30th, Goo Hye-sun was a guest on Channel A’s “Oh Eun-young’s Counseling Center” . When asked if she had anyone to confide in during difficult times, the actress responded by saying, “No one” . She explained, “I prefer having one-on-one relationships rather than being part of a group. When I am feeling down or going through a tough time, I find it uncomfortable to talk to my friends. While others may rely on their friends for support during hard times, I tend to deal with it on my own. My standards for choosing a partner may not be high, but when it comes to friends, they are very high” .
Nonetheless, Goo Hye-sun abruptly shared a statement on her Instagram post on June 7th, offering an explanation for her confession on the program.
The actress clarified, “In my previous statement, I expressed that I have a few close friends with whom I have deep relationships. I do not confide my sadness in them as it would only add to my pain. However, my words were misinterpreted as having no friends to share my sadness with, and this misconception has now been exaggerated to suggest that I have no friends at all. In order to dispel these misunderstandings, I have received permission from my friends to share this post and affirm that I do indeed have friends.”
Goo Hye-sun shared a screenshot from a group chat with her close friends. The image captures her friends playfully teasing her for responding to messages after a two-week delay. One friend even exclaimed, “That’s a legendary reply! Did you send it from a different universe?”while another jokingly remarked, “The most frustrating part is that you’ll probably read these messages a week from now.”
Despite preferring one-on-one relationships, actress Goo Hye-sun finds herself participating in a group chat with some teasing sisters. She jokingly admits that while she may not actively reply in the chat, her personality type as an INTJ makes her an unlikely member of the group.
In reply, fans reassured the individual, stating, “We empathize with you. Simply disregard the negative comments from anti-fans.”They also added, “Don’t let the hurtful remarks get to you. Those who truly know you will understand and support you, even without any proof.”Furthermore, they advised, “You don’t have to constantly prove yourself. Those who twist your words will always misunderstand you, so it’s best to ignore them and focus on the ones who genuinely care for you and your well-being.”
Despite marrying actor Ahn Jae-hyun in 2016, Goo Hye-sun and him divorced in 2020. However, she started attending Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Imaging in 2021 and recently graduated in February as the top student.
