The One Piece manga recently concluded the Egghead Incident with a surprising twist – the death of Saturn, a member of the Five Elders. In the world of One Piece, the Five Elders represent the ultimate authority overseeing all affairs, as there is officially no single ruler.
While they rarely leave Mariejois, the upheaval on Egghead forced them to intervene directly. Saturn appeared to be about to eliminate Vegapunk, but instead, his death ignited a global broadcast where he revealed the “truth of the world.”
The other four members of the Gorosei arrived on the island, attempting to combat the pirates; however, they couldn’t halt the broadcast. Notably, Saturn’s record was marred by failures, as he allowed Luffy to escape and ignored the Vice Admirals’ suggestions to pursue him.
How did Imu kill Saturn in One Piece?
Imu remotely killed Saturn in One Piece. The only glimpse of Imu we receive is through a single panel, showing just their eye as Saturn withers away under pressure.

Saturn served as Imu’s subordinate for many decades, or perhaps even centuries. Yet, one significant mistake cost him his life. When Emet unleashed Joyboy’s haki, it incited fear in Imu, indicating that Luffy, who now wields the same abilities, poses a considerable threat.
However, Luffy’s immense power made it impossible for Saturn to pursue him, leading Imu to decide on his subordinate’s execution without hesitation. With an immediate replacement for Saturn already in place, the loss was manageable for Imu.
Imu’s watchful gaze covers everything, and they possess the ability to eliminate the remaining Gorosei members from any location. The death of Saturn served as a shocking reminder for them to proceed cautiously and avoid repeating such egregious errors if they wish to survive.
