As mentioned previously, Shinobu Kocho is 18 years old. However, her age remains a somewhat ambiguous topic. The manga has not explicitly stated her age, leading to much confusion among fans. Due to her and her older sister’s adoption of Kanao Tsuyuri, who was facing a tragic fate, many fans initially assumed that she was older. This assumption was further supported by her mature appearance and demeanor, leading fans to believe she was in her early 20s. However, it appears that this is not the case.

According to the Wiki page, the age of the Insect Hashira is stated to be 18 years old. However, this claim lacks evidence. Nevertheless, a significant portion of the community holds the belief that she is indeed 18 years old, despite the absence of any confirmation in the manga or fan books released periodically.

As previously mentioned, Shinobu Kocho holds the position of Insect Hashira and is responsible for supervising the rehabilitation program for demon hunters. One of her greatest strengths lies in her expertise in medicine and botany. Her proficiency in extracting and producing venom specifically designed to combat demons solidifies her as a crucial figure in the series.

Together, she and Tamayo operate in secrecy, playing a crucial role in the downfall of Kibutsuji Muzan. The pair develops a drug that not only hinders Muzan’s ability to regenerate, but also transforms Kamado Tanjiro back into a human after he has been turned into a demon by Muzan.

In addition, Shinobu Kocho is tasked with mentoring Kanao Tsuyuri, a role that holds great significance in Kanao’s journey to becoming a skilled demon hunter. Unlike the traditional Katana, Shinobu wields a unique Rapier that is better suited for piercing and thrusting. The blade is also coated with a potent poison, making it a deadly weapon against demons.

A standout moment in the manga series is when she battles Doma, the Upper Moon 2 demon. Despite sacrificing her life, she manages to greatly weaken him, allowing Kanao and Inosuke to finish him off. Shinobu Kocho, although often overlooked, is a truly remarkable character in the anime series.
