Fallout 4’s New Quality Mode on Series X is Broken

The recent update for Fallout 4 on Xbox Series X is experiencing some glitches that prevent players from accessing the new Quality mode.

The latest update for Fallout 4 has been released, bringing the game to the newest generation of consoles. This update primarily focuses on enhancing the graphics and improving the overall performance.

As with most games of this generation, the update offers two additional graphical modes for players to select from: Quality and Performance.

The quality mode prioritizes superior graphics while maintaining a fixed framerate of 30fps. On the other hand, the performance mode aims to achieve 40fps by sacrificing some visual aspects. According to Bethesda, the quality mode offers “Ultra”level settings, while the performance mode is set to “Standard”settings.

The problem is that fans using Series X are unable to access Quality mode and are instead limited to Performance mode.

After the update was released, reports of this issue started appearing. Players noticed that even when they selected Quality mode, the game remained at 60fps. Upon checking the settings, they found that the mode was still set to Performance.

Undoubtedly, the main attraction of this Fallout 4 update is the addition of a 60fps mode. However, there is a significant number of individuals who are curious about the features of the Quality mode.

Since its launch, the Fallout 4 next gen update has faced numerous issues, not just this one. Some players have experienced broken mods, while others who have the PlayStation Plus Collection have been asked to repurchase the game.

As a result, numerous players have resorted to searching for methods to continue playing the game without updating it, or reverting back to earlier versions entirely.

Despite the update being successful in resolving various bugs that were affecting Fallout 4, players have also expressed satisfaction with the improved performance of the game.
