On June 11th, Yoo A-ra from Hello Venus announced on her social media account that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
Reconnecting with her fans after a prolonged absence, Yoo A-ra expressed, “I imagine many believe I am no longer alive.”
She revealed that she had often felt exhausted and her health was in a poor state, stating that she discovered she had cancer after unexpectedly undergoing an examination. She shared with her fans that she has been battling cancer.
Yoo A-ra reassured her fans by revealing her current physical condition, stating, “After being diagnosed, I underwent urgent surgery to remove a malignant tumor. I am currently taking medication and resting well, and my condition has significantly improved.”
Furthermore, she stated, “Numerous individuals were distressed as they were unable to reach me.”She further mentioned, “I will strive to manage my health without succumbing to excessive stress until the year’s end. I urge everyone to take care of themselves and I will make an effort to provide more frequent updates.”
Yoo A-ra made her debut in 2012 as a member of the girl group Hello Venus. Her strong vocal abilities as the group’s main vocalist brought her widespread acclaim. However, in 2014, Yoo A-ra departed from the group to pursue a career in acting.
