The beloved Rockstar game, Bully, has been revitalized not by its original creators, but through the passion of its dedicated fan community, who have developed an exciting new online mode.
Two decades have passed since Canis Canem Edit, widely recognized as Bully, was released. Unlike Rockstar’s signature titles focused on crime and chaos, this unique game immersed players in the environment of a boarding school. Players assumed the role of teenage student Jimmy Hopkins, tasked with dismantling cliques and combatting bullying while striving to maintain good grades.
Despite its standalone nature, anticipation for more content has persisted among fans. Recently, Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar, shared insights into why a sequel for the beloved title never came to fruition during his tenure.
As Rockstar shifts its focus toward blockbuster releases, with the highly anticipated GTA 6 on the horizon, an enthusiastic community has taken the initiative to breathe new life into this cherished game. Thanks to their efforts, Bully will soon be available in an online format.

The forthcoming Bully Online mod emphasizes role-playing, allowing players to navigate a fictional version of New England.
A New Chapter for Bully: The Online Mod
Created by a team of devoted fans under the guidance of YouTuber SWEGTA, who is known for his deep appreciation of the title, the mod was officially announced on October 27, 2025. Supporters will be granted early access this December, with a public release slated for 2026.
Gamers can expect classic features such as boxing matches and go-kart racing in the city streets, but the mod also paves the way for an innovative role-playing experience previously unseen.
Similar to GTA RP, players will be able to live their daily lives in a vibrant interpretation of New England. They can pursue various jobs, accumulate wealth, and even invest in real estate within the expansive open world. The mod incorporates a complex inventory system, allowing players to carry important items and prepare for encounters with mischievous classmates or local bullies.
This ambitious project is the result of a close-knit group of “passionate fans, ” as SWEGTA described. They have been diligently working behind the scenes for an extended period to bring this vision to life.
“Many of the features we thought were beyond our reach just a few years ago are now perfectly feasible, ” SWEGTA remarked.
With the release of GTA 6 fast approaching, it appears that Rockstar has no immediate plans to revisit the Bully franchise. Therefore, this online mod serves as a fantastic opportunity for fans to engage with the world of Bully in a novel and profound way for the first time in nearly two decades.
