Fans speculate about Homelander’s potential death in The Boys

The fans of The Boys are concerned that Homelander may meet a disappointing end similar to a Game of Thrones character, following viral comments made by one actor.

Despite its upcoming Season 5 finale, many viewers are eagerly anticipating the fate of Homelander in The Boys.

Despite the anticipation of fans to witness the carnage, a few remarks from Karen Fukuhara, portraying Kimiko, have caused quite a stir.

TV Guide inquired the cast to share their idea of the perfect death for their characters. In response, Fukuhara expressed her desire for a moment similar to Arya Stark’s victory over the White Walker, suggesting that perhaps Homelander could be defeated by Kimiko.

“I am unsure, but I believe that would be a noble death. If I were to eliminate him, I would be willing to sacrifice my own life.”

The Boys fans wasted no time in expressing their disapproval of this situation, as one individual tweeted on X/Twitter, “Why would anyone want to replicate the most dreadful moment of Game of Thrones?”

A different audience member stated, “Haha, that’s what a majority of GoT fans believe to be one of the weakest moments.”

Another fan argued against the idea of Homelander’s death, stating that it would not align with his character. They believed that the ultimate showdown should be between Butcher and Homelander, with Butcher being the one to ultimately defeat him. They also expressed concern about the inspiration from Game of Thrones Season 8, noting that it was not a positive comparison.

Arya Stark’s defeat of the Night King is considered to be a major disappointment in Game of Thrones as it deprived Jon Snow of the expected conclusion to his character arc.

From the start of the series, it was clear that Jon was meant to be the complete opposite of the Night King. While Jon dedicated his life to protecting the realm, the Night King’s mission was to destroy all living beings and turn them into White Walkers.

In Season 8 Episode 3, Arya was the one to deliver the final blow by stabbing the king in the neck during the final battle against the walkers.

The decision was heavily ridiculed on the internet, as countless GoT enthusiasts felt cheated out of the highly anticipated showdown between Jon and the Night King.

The Boys have built up the rivalry between Homelander and Billy Butcher over four seasons. If Butcher does not deliver the final blow, the show may be compared to Game of Thrones and its reputation for not delivering a satisfying ending.
