FaZe Rain Brushes off CS2 Dynasty Rumblings as Team is Still Yet to Hit Their Peak

Heading into ESL Pro League Season 19 in Malta, FaZe Clan boasts an impressive record of eight consecutive Grand Final appearances. This comes on the heels of their recent victory at IEM Chengdu, where they lifted their first trophy of 2024 and their fourth CS2 trophy overall. This solidifies their position as the top team in the relatively new game.

Despite the impressive streak of near-dominance, maintaining consistent performance has its drawbacks, specifically the exhaustion that comes with pushing deep into every tournament.

Despite the positive streak, FaZe Clan’s Håvard “rain”Nygaard acknowledges that there are some drawbacks. He explains, “While it’s great to be consistently reaching finals, there is a lot of pressure and little time for rest and recovery before the next one. This can take a toll on our mental well-being.”

During the lead-up to the Major, FaZe barely had any breaks as they went from the Copenhagen Major straight to Chengdu. The constant rain also played a role in their busy schedule.

According to rain, the two weeks leading up to the Major and up until Chengdu were extremely hectic. The team had been in full crazy mode during this time. However, they were able to take a five-day break before the ESL Pro League, during which they tried to completely reset and approach the tournament with a fresh mindset.

Despite feeling exhausted, Rain remains determined to make it to the Grand Finals in ESL Pro League. He is not ready to label his team’s winning streak in CS2 as a dynasty, explaining that there are still many more competitions ahead and they must continue to work hard and win.

“Not yet,”Rain responded when asked about the dynasty discussions circulating online. “Maybe if we were able to win every final, but for now, not quite.”When questioned about what other titles would solidify this era as a dynasty, the veteran player stated, “I would definitely want to secure the IEM Cologne trophy, along with some other major ones.”

Despite what others may think, Rain is confident that this roster has not yet reached its full potential. With only a few months of playing together, specifically with [frozen], Rain believes that there is still plenty of room for improvement. He is certain that this roster has yet to reach its peak and that there is a long journey ahead before they can truly reach their highest point.
