FDA Recall Affects Almost 2,000 Products Due to Rodent and Bird Contamination

In a significant health safety intervention, nearly 2, 000 products have been recalled across Indiana, Minnesota, and North Dakota. This action was prompted by federal inspectors’ findings of unsanitary conditions at Gold Star Distribution, Inc.’s facility in Minneapolis, which posed serious contamination risks due to the presence of rodent and bird waste.

Additionally, beverage brands such as Gatorade, Coca-Cola, Smart Water, and Arizona Iced Tea are included, alongside culinary staples like Heinz Ketchup, Crisco Oil, and cinnamon sticks.

Among the non-food items recalled are Pepto Bismol, Axe body spray, Q-Tip cotton swabs, Fancy Feast cat food, and Gillette razors.

Gold Star Distribution has urged consumers who purchased any of the affected products to “destroy the products as soon as possible” to mitigate any potential health risks.
