First Black Ops 6 Prestige Reward: A Throwback to World at War

The initial Prestige reward for Black Ops 6 has been disclosed months before its release, as Treyarch honors the iconic World at War era in the Call of Duty series.

Following years of testing out different versions of the Prestige system, CoD is finally going back to its original format. The upcoming release of Black Ops 6 confirms that the game will be reverting to its traditional layout.

Instead of implementing new levels every season, which results in Prestiges being limited by time, Treyarch’s upcoming release will return to the original format. Black Ops 6 will start with 10 tiers to progress through, and each Prestige will reset your level to 1.

This is precisely how it functioned prior to CoD implementing a seasonal structure. Returning to its roots, this implies that each time players progress, they have the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards.

Our first look at the Prestige 1 reward in Black Ops 6.

In earlier installments, achieving Prestige status would reward players with a unique icon to showcase their progress to other players in the lobby. The unforgettable Modern Warfare 2 10th Prestige emblem serves as a prime example. However, in Black Ops 6, Prestige offers even more than just a symbol of accomplishment.

Initially, every Prestige awards a fresh Prestige Token which can be utilized only once. This Token enables the player to permanently retain any equipment without the need to level up and unlock it again.

Additionally, each Prestige will also come with its own exclusive Operator skin. According to information from our sister site CharlieIntel, the first skin will be based on the 2008 game World at War.

Upon reaching Prestige for the first time in Black Ops 6, players will have the opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind cosmetic with a Zombies theme. It should be noted that the only available image at this time is that of a level icon, and not the actual Operator skin.

The community’s desire for the classic Zombies look is evident from the reception, and we will have to wait and see how it translates to a modern-day character.

It has been confirmed by developers that each of the 10 Prestige levels will be based on previous titles from Treyarch. This could potentially include throwback designs from as early as 2005’s Call of Duty 2 all the way to Black Ops Cold War.
