The enduring enigma of Bigfoot may have found its resolution; remarkably, the legendary creature has been revealed to be lurking within the virtual world of Fortnite.
Fortnite, renowned for its diverse roster of crossover characters—ranging from iconic figures like Darth Vader to pop star Ariana Grande—saw a new addition following the 39.10 update on December 11. This time, players have reported sightings of an unexpected character from folklore.
Bigfoot, or sasquatch, has long been a subject of intrigue, described as a large, mysterious being residing in dense forests. Confirmation of its existence has remained elusive, with the viral 1967 footage captured by Roger Patterson and Robert “Bob”Gimlin being the most notable evidence that sparked widespread belief in its reality.
While genuine encounters in the wild are unlikely, players can now engage with the elusive creature in Fortnite, further blurring the lines between myth and reality within this gaming universe.
As soon as the recent update was implemented, players started reporting sightings of Bigfoot roaming the game environment. Ironically, despite its daunting reputation, the in-game Bigfoot appears diminutive and deceptively easy to overlook.

Finding Bigfoot in Fortnite
Currently, there is no fixed location where players can guarantee an encounter with Bigfoot. This elusive character has a variety of potential spawn points and follows random paths across the landscape. Notably, he is immune to damage and disappears if players close in within a 35-meter radius.
This marks not the first appearance of Bigfoot in Fortnite; a Bigfoot skin was made available in the game’s store in 2019. However, this is the first instance of the character being featured as a non-playable character (NPC).

The intentions behind Bigfoot’s inclusion in the game remain uncertain. Is this merely a playful Easter egg for gamers, or could it indicate a future narrative development within the Fortnite universe planned by Epic Games?
The last known instance of a character appearing in a similar elusive manner was The Wanderer in Chapter 5 Season 3. This character ultimately foreshadowed the introduction of Doctor Doom, who played the antagonist in the subsequent season.
Consequently, it is plausible that this small sasquatch could serve a more significant role in the ongoing storyline, possibly influencing events in Chapter 7 Season 2 or the anticipated Winterfest event.
