Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 2 Myths and Mortals, along with additional mid-season updates, have resulted in significant alterations to the map. These changes include the addition of 4 new POI locations and various Star Wars elements.
With the start of each new Fortnite season comes a plethora of fresh map changes and locations for players to discover. The beginning of Chapter 5 brought about a complete transformation of the map in its inaugural season, and now, Epic Games is once again shaking things up on the Island for Season 2.
The latest installment of Chapter 5 Season 2, titled Myths and Mortals, has introduced four new legendary POI locations, each representing a different Greek deity. These include Mount Olympus, Grim Gate, The Underworld, and Brawler’s Battleground.
Several mid-season updates have been released since the launch of this season, causing further changes to the map. One major event was the Aang the Avatar takeover, where players could experience the Avatar Elements in-game. However, this has now been replaced by the latest crossover content featuring Star Wars.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 New Map

You will notice slight alterations on the Fortnite map as it remains the same Chapter 5 island from the previous season.
Previously, the game used to have a larger snowy area located on the northeast side of the map. However, it has now been reduced and replaced with four new POIs showcasing distinctive Greek-style structures and bodies of water. This offers players a plethora of options to discover and enjoy within the game.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 New Points of Interest
Below are the new POI locations for Chapter 5 Season 2:
- Mount Olympus
- Grim Gate
- The Underworld
- Brawler’s Battleground
Mount Olympus
Mount Olympus, as Epic stated, is an essential point of interest on this Season’s map. It is impossible to have Olympus without Mount Olympus, as it is the dwelling place of the Greek god Zeus and boasts a strikingly grand monument that overlooks players from the mountains.
Grim Gate
In order to reach The Underworld, one must first cross Grim Gate and its river. Located on the western side of the Island, Grim Gate is guarded by Cerberus, a three-headed dog.
The Underworld
After successfully navigating past the hounds, you will arrive at the dwelling of Hades, also referred to as The Underworld. This realm is characterized by its abundant, lush green streams, a stark contrast to the arid landscape.
Brawler’s Battleground
The fourth new POI location, known as Brawler’s Battleground, is situated south of the Mount Olympus POI and is the domain of Ares, the god of war. Here, you can accept his challenge and engage in a battle. This area can be found towards the bottom right of the Island.
Changes to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Map in the 29.01 Update
With the release of the 29.01 update, Midas made a brief return to the Island before ultimately being removed in the subsequent update. During this time, players could encounter Midas as an NPC wandering around his luxurious Marigold yacht, which had been completely transformed to reflect his signature style. One notable addition was a statue of Midas himself, prominently displayed in the yacht’s main lobby.
You were previously able to find the Midas NPC and his Marigold Yacht directly west at the edge of the Island.
In addition, Midas’ Service Stations and Vending Machines were scattered throughout the Island and would appear randomly, providing players with special advantages if they happened to stumble upon them. Another notable detail at the Underworld POI is the cracked prison cell of Midas.
Changes to Fortnite’s Map in Chapter 5 Season 2 29.20 update
The latest update for Fortnite, version 29.20, has removed Midas and his Marigold yacht from the Island, making them no longer accessible. In their place, the main focus of this update is on Aang the Avatar and the Avatar Elements event.
With the arrival of Aang, shrines dedicated to the elements of water, earth, fire, and air have manifested all over the Island. Upon entering one of the 8 scattered shrines, one can unlock and learn the corresponding bending technique by opening its container.

In honor of the beloved Cabbage seller from the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, multiple Cart Cabbage spots have been added throughout the Island. The roster of NPCs has been rearranged, with Aang, Katara, Zuko, and Toph now located in various areas of the Battle Royale map.
Additionally, the beloved character Peely has been incorporated as an NPC, with a newly established small campsite situated south of the Restored Reels POI.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 29.40 Update Map Changes
The 29.40 update for Fortnite includes new content from the Star Wars franchise. This includes the addition of five Imperial Roadblocks spread throughout the map, where players can encounter Stormtroopers on patrol. These roadblocks also contain Imperial Chests, which provide players with the opportunity to obtain the powerful Mythic E-11 Blaster Rifle and Mythic Wookie Bowcaster.
You’ll be able to fight Stormtroopers at Imperial Roadblocks.
One may also come across Chewbacca at these locations, where he may be asking players for help in escaping from Stormtroopers. To find him, simply follow the blue smoke signal on the map before jumping out of the Battle Bus.
Additionally, Darth Vader can now be found on the map, situated in the northern region of Lavish Lair at the Piney Lane landmark. He is accompanied by his Lambda shuttle and a team of patrolling Stormtroopers.
In every match, you can locate him at the same spot and take him out to obtain his Red Mythic Lightsaber, which currently remains the only lightsaber available in the game.
