Reddit user u/wizard680 shared a clip of his Fortnite gameplay as he used a Lock-On Pistol against an opponent wearing aBallistic Shield. In the clip, the user is approximately 20 meters away from their opponent as they try to lock their weapon on their target.

It turns out that the gun cannot lock on to an enemy wearing a Ballistic Shield because it stops the weapon’s auto-aim function. Although the user managed to win, they had to resort to other methods to eliminate their opponent.
The user then explained the scenario: “So after five hours I finally got another chance to try the bolt action gun against the riot shield. Since the gun cannot see the player, it cannot lock onto the shield. So the gun is literally useless against the shield.”
