The most recent hotfix for Fortnite saw the Warforged Assault Rifle being replaced with the Combat variant, causing a split in opinions among players.
After the major update 30.10, which brought the Metallica crossover, heavy metal items, and other modifications, Fortnite’s June 18 hotfix implemented several minor changes.
Despite being a recent hotfix, one of its changes has sparked controversy. Epic Games decided to replace the Warforged Assault Rifle with the Combat Assault Rifle, resulting in mixed reactions.
In Chapter 5 Season 2, Epic introduced the former, which received a mixed reception from players due to its lackluster in-game performance. Many Reddit threads and posts criticized the weapon’s recoil pattern and bloom.

Many rejoiced over the Warforged AR’s removal from the loot pool. Several individuals on X responded with enthusiastic words of support, expressing sentiments like “FINALLY the Warforged was awful anyways.”Some also expressed gratitude towards Epic for fulfilling their wishes.
Despite the widespread support for the change, there were some who did not approve. One notable opponent was the well-known leaker iFireMonkey, who even started a hashtag in protest: “BringBackTheWarforged.”

“In response to iFireMonkey’s despair, one player expressed their disappointment by saying, “The best AR in the game is gone smh.”
After reading ShiinaBR’s post, a player argued, “Those who claim it was bad are simply admitting they struggled to control the recoil.”
Just like other weapons that have been vaulted, the removal of the Warforged may not be permanent. For instance, in Chapter 3, Epic vaulted the Combat Assault Rifle, but it has since returned and is now even more powerful. It is possible that the Warforged will make a comeback in future seasons, but with some adjustments to improve its effectiveness.
Aside from altering the weapon swap, the unexpected hotfix also modified the spawn rates of the Tow Hook Cannon in Battle Royale.
