In the popular game Fortnite, players are expressing their dissatisfaction with the recently released Darth Vader Samurai skin due to an unexpected omission: the katana is not glowing as anticipated.

A promotional image showcased the iconic villain wielding a katana, adorned with intricate red symbols and letters. Shortly after, another version of the same promotional art surfaced, which implied that the sword would have a lightsaber-like glow. However, the katana pickaxe available in the shop does not exhibit any luminescent properties, nor does it feature a reactive setting that players can activate from the game menus.

The Disappointment Surrounding the Darth Vader Samurai Skin

The individual who first shared the glowing katana art, Black_Astley, reported that they spotted it at a train station in Japan. The absence of the glowing effect in the actual game remains a mystery for many.

Following the reveal, numerous players voiced their discontent, asserting that the lightsaber-like feature appeared to be “grossly exaggerated” in promotional materials. Interestingly, the official trailer released by Fortnite also avoided depicting a lit-up katana.

I guess that claim about this thing glowing like a lightsaber was grossly exaggerated, it’s not even tagged as reactive and there’s no “Always On”option either. Shame. by u/ExceedinglyGayRoach in FortNiteBR

One frustrated player lamented, “They would do anything but give us an actual lightsaber.” Many others also expressed that the katana’s lack of illumination is a “deal breaker” for their enjoyment of the skin.

For those who desire a lightsaber aesthetic, it might be worth considering the purchase of Johnny Silverhand’s Katana, which is still available in the shop. As noted by one Fortnite user, “The Cyberpunk sword unironically fits much better than the Star Wars one.”

This new Samurai bundle aligns with the Japanese mythology theme of Chapter 6, Season 1, introduced on December 24. Players have the option to acquire Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper in a bundle priced at 3,000 V-Bucks, or they can buy each character separately for 1,800 V-Bucks.
