It was intended to revolutionize the gaming experience for Fortnite enthusiasts, yet it has transformed into a destination that few are eager to explore.
The collaboration between Disney Parks and Fortnite was under development for almost two years. This partnership, which was first disclosed publicly in March 2025, aimed to establish a lasting theme park environment within Fortnite’s Creative mode. The initiative sought to integrate Disney’s immersive parks with Fortnite’s diverse tools, iconic characters, and extensive player community.
However, when the Disneyland Rush mode finally debuted, it coincided with Fortnite’s highly publicized Simpsons season, leaving the new game mode overshadowed and overlooked.
Disneyland Rush Outshined by The Simpsons Season
Despite the excitement surrounding the Disney-themed collaboration, the Disneyland Game Rush mode experienced a rapid decline in player engagement. Initially, it attracted 26, 445 players, but just four days later, only 800 players were still active—an astonishing drop of approximately 97%.

For comparison, even the lesser-popular ranked playlists in Fortnite maintain over 50, 000 concurrent players, while flagship modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build regularly draw in millions. Additionally, Creative modes such as Steal the Brainrot continue to boast over 52, 000 concurrent players, highlighting the stark contrast to Disney Rush’s rapid decline.

The disparity in performance can be attributed not merely to the timing of the launch but significantly to its visibility. Disneyland Rush debuted as a standalone Creative game, submerged within Fortnite’s complicated mode menus and lacking the continuous updates and engagement that The Simpsons crossover enjoys. This lack of compelling content meant that players had little incentive to revisit the mode, and Epic did not provide any announcements for fresh events or updates to rekindle player interest.
This outcome is particularly surprising given the magnitude of the collaboration. The partnership between Disney and Epic Games was envisioned as a cornerstone of a prolonged metaverse initiative, showcasing successful expansions linked to iconic franchises like Marvel and Star Wars. Nonetheless, the central theme park feature that was anticipated has faded from view, leaving what was intended to be Fortnite’s most ambitious world largely empty and neglected.
