Frank Warren issues major Tyson Fury warning ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Tyson Fury has been cautioned by Frank Warren that Oleksandr Usyk will focus on the cut above the Gypsy King’s eye during their upcoming fight in the following month.

The scheduled bout between Fury and Usyk in February had to be delayed as an unfortunate incident occurred during Fury’s training camp, resulting in him requiring 11 stitches to repair a cut on his eye.

Warren, who co-promotes Fury, has warned that Usyk will be looking to target the cut on May 18, the new planned date for the fight.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Warren stated, “I would do the same.”However, he also acknowledged that Fury is no stranger to adversity.

“The promoter also mentioned that in the fight against [Otto] Wallin, Tyson suffered a worse cut. Despite the severe injury, Tyson managed to win the fight convincingly, showcasing his determination and grit even with a significant cut.”

Despite Fury’s own potential area of vulnerability for the fight, Warren also acknowledged that the WBC champion is a skilled at identifying weaknesses in his opponents.

“Warren noted that Tyson has a keen eye for any weaknesses or cracks in his opponents, making him a formidable exploiter. This is what makes the upcoming fight so thrilling.”

“Similarly, Usyk may have identified some exploitable weaknesses from the [Francis] Ngannou fight and I have no doubt he will utilize them in his own fight.”

“He has been a fierce competitor since his amateur days and continues to be so even today. He has always met every challenge and task with determination and success.”

When asked for his prediction on the fight’s outcome, Warren confidently stated that Fury would emerge victorious within 12 rounds.

“Warren expressed his belief that Tyson will deliver a knockout, just as he had predicted in the rematch against [Deontay] Wilder. He is confident that Tyson will once again achieve this feat.”

Although I believe he will ultimately defeat him, I anticipate that the fight will be incredibly thrilling for as long as it lasts.
