G-Dragon Attributes 40-Minute Delay to Traffic Issues While Arriving in His Cybertruck

On June 13, G-Dragon graced the “PEACEMINUSONE Premium Highball Launch Party – The Signal” at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Yongsan, Seoul, making his entrance roughly 40 minutes after the scheduled start time of 7:00 PM, arriving around 7:40 PM.

G-Dragon’s arrival was notable as he was seen driving a Tesla Cybertruck to the event. His agency offered an explanation for the delay, citing severe traffic congestion exacerbated by rush hour and rain. The hotel vicinity was reported to be particularly clogged, and some attending guests voiced their frustrations regarding the delays.

This latest delay has attracted considerable attention, especially given G-Dragon’s recent history of tardiness. In March, the first day of his solo concert “Übermensch in Korea” at Goyang Stadium also commenced over an hour late.

Online conversations have emerged, with some users questioning if lateness has become a signature aspect of his persona, remarking statements like, “Is being late part of his style now?” and “It’s not a great impression on a day when he’s making a donation…”

Notably, leading up to the event, G-Dragon made a substantial donation of 880 million KRW to support youth battling alcohol addiction, earning commendations from the public. This mix of noteworthy philanthropy and recurring lateness adds layers to the public’s perception of the K-pop star, bringing G-Dragon into the limelight once again, for better or worse.
