Ignoring local warnings, he frequently scavenges through the town’s refuse for anything salvageable, desperately trying to protect items from the “Abyss” —a deep pit into which society discards what it deems trash, often including people. After encountering a mysterious figure one evening, Rudo returns home to find Regto gravely injured. When authorities discover him at the scene, Rudo is wrongfully implicated in Regto’s death and banished to the Abyss. Instead of meeting his demise, he awakens in a repugnant world teeming with monstrous entities made of garbage.
During one fateful encounter with these beasts, Rudo is rescued by Enjin, a “Cleaner” wielding specialized weapons known as Vital Instruments that are designed to fight these creatures. In pursuit of revenge for Regto’s death, Rudo reluctantly aligns himself with the Cleaners, determined to climb back to the surface and escape the Abyss.
