Garo Sero: Kim Sae-ron Defends Kim Soo-hyun as He Recommends Telegram Over KakaoTalk

On March 17, a press conference was held by attorney Bu Ji-seok, representing Kim Sae-ron’s family, alongside Kwon Young-chan, the head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

Kim Sae-ron Tried to Protect Kim Soo-hyun Until the End

Kwon voiced concerns regarding the legal matters surrounding Kim Sae-ron, stating, “On March 25, 2024, Kim Sae-ron received a second legal notice from her agency. The notice concluded with a threat of legal action should she share anything on social media that could potentially harm the production of ‘Queen of Tears.’ This raises the question of her responsibility in this situation. Consider the extensive stress such pressures impose on a young individual.”

He elaborated on Kim Sae-ron’s intent to protect her colleague Kim Soo-hyun, highlighting a poignant moment where she confided in her mother about future consequences if legal issues arose.“She expressed deep concern over the possibility of undergoing forensic analysis, ” Kwon remarked. Moreover, it was revealed that Kim Soo-hyun’s team recommended using Telegram instead of KakaoTalk for conversations.

Kwon addressed the profound distress his family faces, urging, “Please refrain from causing further suffering to Kim Sae-ron’s family. Their paramount worry is the repercussions on her two younger siblings, both of whom aspired to act. Tragically, one has abandoned these dreams, deeply affected by their sister’s tragic fate, while the other remains lost and directionless.”

When questioned about the prospect of legal action against Kim Soo-hyun, attorney Bu Ji-seok clarified, “Currently, we do not intend to pursue any legal claims against Kim Soo-hyun. Therefore, this has not been produced as legal evidence. However, the implications of this legal notice may lead the public to question any potential relationship between the events surrounding Kim Sae-ron’s death and Kim Soo-hyun.”

Kim Se-ui, from the Garo Sero Research Institute, stated, “Today’s press conference pertained to the lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin-ho. Another conference addressing potential legal action against Kim Soo-hyun is forthcoming.” He added that the legal notice would serve as evidence in demonstrating that Lee Jin-ho has been disseminating false information.

Since March 10, the Garo Sero Research Institute has alleged that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun were romantically involved from 2015 to 2021. They have been producing various forms of evidence, including photographs, messages, and letters to support their claims.

In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s representatives issued statements on March 14 and 15, refuting the allegations. Gold Medalist, his agency, clarified that the two were involved only from 2019 to 2020, after Kim Sae-ron reached adulthood. They also addressed contractual matters concerning Kim Sae-ron’s termination and argued that the photographs referenced by the Garo Sero Research Institute were captured in 2019.
