On April 24th, Genshin Impact Version 4.6 will be launched. The developers have also introduced a pre-installation feature, simplifying the entire update procedure. Gamers can now pre-download resources for upcoming updates on both PC and mobile devices.
As per the announcement on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account, servers will be undergoing maintenance on Thursday, April 24th at 06:00 (UTC+8). The maintenance is expected to last approximately five hours and Version 4.6 will be made available at 11:00 (UTC+8).
The update will be completed at a much quicker pace once the servers are back online, thanks to the pre-installation feature. This not only shortens the waiting time, but also allows players to access the new content sooner.
The pre-installation package size for PC will range from 28.72-36.2 GB, while for mobile devices it will range from 8.57-9.9 GB. The developers advise clearing up available space beforehand, as the game files will require a significant amount of storage.

- PC:
- Close the game, open Genshin Impact Launcher, and click Update.
- iOS:
- Open the App Store and tap Update.
- Android:
- Open the game and follow the directions on-screen.
- PS5 and PS4:
- Highlight Genshin Impact from the Home Screen, press the OPTIONS button and select “Check for Update” .
To compensate for the lost time, players will be granted 300 Primogems (60 for each hour the servers were down) as Maintenance Compensation. This compensation will be distributed via mail five hours after the update maintenance is completed. It is important for players to claim this compensation before the end of Version 4.6, within a time frame of 30 days.
HoYoverse will release additional information regarding the upcoming Version 4.6 update, including adjustments, optimizations, bug fixes, and compensation details on April 24th at 07:00 (UTC+8).
