I apologize to all the other idols.” After the video was shared online, Shuhua faced criticism for her perceived arrogance and for belittling music from other idols. Despite being known as the girl group that dominates Korean digital music charts, (G)I-DLE is currently facing struggles on the charts with their latest release, “Klaxon.”While the group has had remarkable success with their Perfect All-Kill songs in the past 2 years, not all of their songs have been equally well-received. Additionally, the group’s previous summer releases have not been as strong as their other songs. Critics have noted that the summer spirit is not captured well in “Klaxon,”with its dull melody and lack of charisma in the members’ vocals.
Despite high expectations, (G)I-DLE’s comeback did not meet the anticipated success. “Klaxon”entered the charts at #10 on Bugs, #20 on Genie, and #46 on MelOn. However, even after 2 days since its release, the song has yet to break into the top 20 on MelOn. In addition, the track’s Spotify streams are significantly below average, with only over 300,000 streams on the first day of tracking. This is especially disappointing for a girl group known for their impressive digital achievements within the 4th generation.
