Despite not being able to emerge victorious against Ryomen Sukuna in the Shinjuku Showdown depicted in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Satoru Gojo has solidified his place in the series as one of the most powerful and unforgettable characters to ever grace its pages.
Not only did his presence enhance the story with his comical behavior and charming personality, but it also brought a sense of comfort to the characters, even in the most desperate circumstances.
Despite his mostly benevolent nature and commitment to fighting for humanity against curses, there are instances where fans imagine Gojo abandoning his morals and succumbing to the dark side.
Reimagining Jujutsu Kaisen with Satoru Gojo as Ryomen Sukuna’s vessel
Despite being the standout character in Jujutsu Kaisen, Satoru Gojo has also become a fan-favorite within the anime community. His immense strength, benevolent and mischievous demeanor, and overall joyful disposition have garnered him a huge fan base in recent years.
Despite this, people continue to envision what Gojo would be like as a villain, with many fans creating alternate scenarios where the beloved blindfolded sensei gives in to his dark side.
Despite the already grim state of the world in Jujutsu Kaisen, if Gojo were to turn evil, it would undoubtedly result in a doomsday scenario. However, the consequences would be even more devastating if he were to attempt to become the host for the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
Imagining a world where Gojo and Sukuna align is no simple feat, especially considering their shared preference for solitude in their respective domains. Nevertheless, the idea is intriguing and warrants careful consideration before it can be fully explored.
The specific details on how a person becomes Sukuna’s vessel have not been fully disclosed yet. It is known, however, that this person is said to appear only once in a thousand years.
Kenjaku had specifically chosen Yuji Itadori to be the vessel for Sukuna, likely because of his strong ties to the King of Curses. As a result, it is possible that Gojo may not be the most suitable candidate to house Sukuna and could potentially face fatal consequences if he were to ingest one of the cursed fingers.
Nevertheless, this situation presupposes that Gojo is able to successfully become a suitable vessel for Sukuna’s power. Considering Gojo’s innate talent from birth, it is not far-fetched to speculate that he may serve as more of a containment for Sukuna, similar to Yuji, rather than a vessel.
Under those circumstances, he would have the ability to decide when Sukuna would take over his body and when he would suppress him. It is important to mention that, given Gojo’s incredible power, he would most likely not be overpowered by Sukuna in the same way Yuji and Megumi were.
Going forward, the crucial question is whether Gojo will stay committed to his principles or succumb to the temptations of the dark path. There is not a single sorcerer in existence who could stop Gojo from obtaining and devouring all 20 fingers. Should he successfully maintain control over his body even after consuming all 20 fingers, it is highly probable that the leaders of the Jujutsu community would classify Gojo as a curse and banish him.
Despite the potential consequences, attempting to do so would only increase Gojo’s anger and ultimately result in him single-handedly eliminating the higher-ups – a desire he had held since the start. If he were to pursue this course of action, it is highly likely that his students would no longer view him in the same positive light and may even attempt to intervene.
It is inevitable that the situation will take a turn for the worse for the protagonists, as there is a strong chance that Gojo will eventually reach a breaking point and lose his grasp on morality.
As a result of the immense power he possesses, he could potentially align himself with the King of Curses or become a victim of the latter’s manipulations. This would ultimately result in Sukuna gaining control over Gojo’s body.
Given Sukuna’s track record of dominating all competition in the manga, even while weakened, it’s safe to assume he will continue to show no mercy as he annihilates the entire Jujutsu Kaisen universe. With the combined power of Gojo and his own techniques, it would be a simple task for him to defeat everyone.
Despite the Jujutsu society being annihilated by Sukuna, there would still be no one left to oppose the King of Curses. Even if Gojo were to regain control of his body, he would be powerless to change the state of the world, as he was partly responsible for its destruction.
If he hadn’t already completely abandoned the Jujutsu society, he would now either be too shattered to retain control of his body, or he might align himself with the King of Curses. The latter option would allow him to continue living according to his selfish desires.
If this scenario were to occur, it would resemble the chaotic Heian Era, but this time there would be no one to oppose the King of Curses. The King would continue to cause destruction and eliminate anyone who tries to stop him. As a result, the world of Jujutsu Kaisen would meet its end much sooner.
