Gojo’s Possible Return and the Ongoing Jujutsu Kaisen Comeback

Ever since the release of chapter 260, the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom has been in a frenzy. While the chapter mainly revolved around the tag team match between Todo, Yuji, and Sukuna, the final panel also hinted at the return of Gojo. This tease has led to the development of new theories surrounding the circumstances of Gojo’s comeback.

The return of Gojo, who had passed away, could potentially serve as a plot device to bring Megumi out of his state of despair. Currently, the manga has 260 chapters published and can be accessed for reading on Shueisha’s MANGAPlus platform.

Despite speculation, it has not been officially confirmed that Gojo will make a comeback, as it will only be confirmed in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 unless the chapter shifts its focus to a different perspective.

Chapter 260 concluded with Sukuna’s attempt to access a new domain being interrupted by a figure resembling Gojo, who appeared amidst the debris. While both the chapter and the editor’s remarks strongly suggested that the figure was indeed Gojo, it has yet to be confirmed if it was a physical manifestation or merely a figment of Sukuna’s imagination.

It can be assumed that several characters, such as Shoko, Ui Ui, and Yuta, played significant roles in Gojo’s return, but his comeback will also bring about fresh developments in the storyline.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Megumi’s condition and potential return, fans have been speculating about it since Sukuna took over his body. Yuji attempted to communicate with Megumi using his soul-based abilities, but by that point, Megumi had already resigned himself to his fate.

While not directly mentioned, it is highly likely that Megumi’s current state is a result of the deaths of his sister, Tsumiki Fushiguro, and his mentor and father figure, Satoru Gojo. Both of these tragic events were caused by Sukuna, who had taken over Megumi’s body. It is probable that Megumi holds himself responsible for their deaths, which has contributed to his current state.

The fact that Gojo is alive and back will not only significantly increase the chances of defeating Sukuna, but it will also serve as a source of motivation for Megumi to begin fighting back from within.

Despite Megumi refusing Yuji’s help, fans had lost hope of his return. However, with Gojo’s potential comeback, as hinted in chapter 260, it may finally be the catalyst for Megumi’s highly anticipated comeback.

Despite her death in chapter 125 of the manga, Nobara has continued to be mentioned and featured in brief flashbacks. While many characters have made an appearance to fight Sukuna during the Sukuna fight, Nobara has yet to be seen.

Despite being one of the original main characters, Nobara has consistently brought hope to her fanbase. However, if Gojo’s return is officially confirmed, it may decrease the likelihood of Nobara making a comeback. Nevertheless, there remains a possibility that she may reappear towards the conclusion of the series.

Final Thoughts

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, scheduled for release on May 26, 2024, will address Gojo’s fate and resolve any uncertainty surrounding his survival. The frequent use of binding vows during the Sukuna battle suggests that Gojo’s return may be intertwined with these powerful spells.
