In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Goo Je-yeok, released on July 12th, issued an apology to Tzuyang. He revealed that around February of last year, he received an anonymous report about Tzuyang from a person who was believed to be her former agency CEO.
He clarified, “The report contained negative information about Tzuyang’s past and included specific evidence. As a result, I advised Tzuyang’s agency to check the accuracy of the details. During my investigation, I also discovered that she was receiving threats from someone suspected to be her former agency’s CEO.”He further explained, “Unfortunately, since the report was anonymous and the informant’s identity could not be determined, I was unable to file a complaint against the CEO. Therefore, Tzuyang’s agency requested my assistance in identifying the informant and preventing the information from becoming public.”
The CEO had already shared the anonymous report with several YouTubers, including myself, as mentioned by him. In an effort to identify the source, I reached out to these YouTubers and gathered the information they had received. This information was then sent to Tzuyang’s agency. During my attempts to establish connections with the YouTubers who held a negative view of Tzuyang, I unintentionally recorded a controversial conversation. I have already provided Tzuyang’s agency with all the information I obtained about the informant during this process.
Despite Goo Je-yeok’s statement that the report had already been widely circulated, he felt compelled to make donations to prevent YouTubers from creating videos about it and exposing information about Tzuyang.
He admitted, “In hindsight, I realize that my actions were foolish. I believed that the only way to stop the YouTubers from creating videos about Tzuyang was to pay them donations from my own pocket. However, as more YouTubers began asking for donations in exchange for not making videos, I found it increasingly challenging to handle the situation on my own. Eventually, I reached out to Tzuyang’s agency for support. Looking back, I now understand that there were likely better approaches I could have taken to prevent the creation of these videos without resorting to paying donations.”
Despite the urgency of the situation, I was unable to come up with a better solution and resorted to a foolish method of using money to stop the YouTubers from making videos. I sincerely apologize to Tzuyang for my error.

Finally, Goo Je-yeok stated, “I was given a sum of money to safeguard Tzuyang’s past from being revealed, but I was unable to carry out my duty effectively. As a result, I will promptly return the entirety of the funds I received from Tzuyang’s agency.”He also added, “I would like to sincerely apologize for my failure to protect Tzuyang and for making donations to YouTubers in an attempt to prevent them from creating videos about her. I assure you that I will return the service fees as soon as possible.”
Despite Goo Je-yeok’s apology and explanation, netizens continued to criticize him, demanding that he disclose the identities of all the YouTubers who requested donations and report them to the prosecution. They also accused him of threatening and accepting money, and believed that he was only trying to reduce his sentence. Many urged him to cooperate with the prosecution’s investigation and face the consequences of his actions instead of making excuses.
