Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series are buzzing with speculation that changes have been made to a character in GTA 6 after a controversy surrounding a Florida man’s claim for compensation over his likeness.

The highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6, originally slated for 2025, has been pushed back to May 26, 2026. Rockstar Games has indicated that they require additional time to refine the game.

Nevertheless, the developer hasn’t left fans empty-handed. Recent weeks have brought a second trailer and nearly 100 new screenshots showcasing elements of the game’s expansive world. Enthusiasts have eagerly analyzed these materials, uncovering new vehicles, potential exploration spots, and even indicators pointing to characters returning from GTA 5.

Rockstar Faces Backlash Over Character Design in GTA 6

Among these developments, one character—featuring a white vest, distinctive gold jewelry adorned with a bull pendant, and sunglasses—has drawn particular attention. Observers noted modifications to the character’s hairstyle between the trailers.

This alteration has led many to believe it is in response to claims by TikToker zoeepoppyy, who alleged that Rockstar created the character based on his likeness without permission or compensation. He humorously requested, “They gone cloned Tyrone. Change the character to my name, that’s me! GTA, I need my money, man!”

Fans quickly chimed in on the debate, with some pointing out the striking resemblance.“That literally is him, though; they even got his exact nose shape, ” remarked one ardent follower. Another stated, “The original was better; they should have just cut him a check.” Yet another echoed their sentiments, asserting, “I mean, it really did look like him.”

While some fans defended the TikToker, suggesting he should have waited until the game launched to make his claim, others viewed his actions as a missed opportunity.“He should have just waited until the game was published at least, ” one commenter noted, while another lamented, “Had the opportunity of a lifetime to create a whole brand for himself and threw it away.”
