Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has once again alleviated concerns regarding potential delays for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Despite initial plans for a late 2025 release by Rockstar Games, the company announced in early May that they required additional time for refinement.

Now, the official launch date for GTA 6 is set for May 26, 2026, accompanied by a second trailer aimed at calming fans’ anxieties. However, the extended silence from Rockstar since then has reignited worries among segments of the fan base.

Industry analysts have identified November and December as pivotal months for the game, predicting that pre-order options could become available during this period. Nevertheless, some enthusiasts remain anxious about the possibility of further delays.

Confidence in Rockstar’s Timeline

In a recent discussion, Zelnick expressed unwavering confidence in Rockstar’s ability to meet the May 2026 deadline. Responding to a question about his level of conviction for the release date, Zelnick stated, “My level of conviction is very, very high. Obviously, ” underscoring his belief in the studio’s capabilities.

He acknowledged that while Rockstar has various projects underway, GTA 6 remains their “primary focus.” Zelnick also dismissed any concerns about living up to player expectations, asserting that it will be an “amazing” game upon its debut.

Amid the buzz, rumors of a possible Grand Theft Auto IV remake and ongoing discussions about Max Payne remakes have emerged, raising questions about whether these could divert Rockstar’s attention from GTA 6.

Furthermore, Zelnick remained tight-lipped regarding the rumored $100 price point for the game, preferring not to disclose specific figures. He did, however, emphasize Rockstar’s commitment to delivering substantial value through their titles, stating, “We’re highly focused on making sure the experience is great, not just because the game itself is great, but also because consumers have paid a fair price for it.”

As the May 2026 release date approaches, fans continue to stay eager for more updates while remaining engaged with the evolving narratives around the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
