Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has ignited interest among fans by hinting at the potential for future developments related to the LA Noire franchise. This announcement arrives while gamers remain focused on the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Since its debut in 2011, LA Noire has captivated players by allowing them to step into the shoes of Cole Phelps, a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department. Players navigate through various police departments, solving intricate cases and questioning suspects vigorously. Given its deep narrative and engaging mechanics, the game received a remastered edition in 2017, which reignited fan discussions about a sequel.

Future Prospects for LA Noire

During a recent interview at the iicon event in Las Vegas, Zelnick expressed optimism about exploring new opportunities with the LA Noire franchise. When queried about the possibility of a sequel, he responded with an affirmative, stating, “Yes, we’re looking at doing more with the game.”His comments stirred excitement among the gaming community, which has long been hungry for updates regarding the series.

While Zelnick acknowledged interest in advancing the franchise, he emphasized that any official announcements would come directly from Rockstar Games, not Take-Two. This aligns with his typical responses regarding news about GTA VI, ensuring that fans are aware of the proper channel for future updates.

Originally launched for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, LA Noire was developed by Team Bondi, an Australian studio that unfortunately shut down following the game’s release amid criticism regarding its work culture.

Despite Team Bondi’s closure, the spirit of LA Noire lives on through Rockstar Australia, a studio formed after Rockstar acquired Video Games Deluxe. The studio is led by Brendan McNamara, the original creator of LA Noire.

In 2020, there was speculation about a potential follow-up announcement, but those rumors ultimately fell flat. Nonetheless, anticipation still grows for Grand Theft Auto VI, with Take-Two maintaining confidence in a projected release window of November 2026 and indicating that marketing plans will kick off “soon.”
