<p>Recent revelations regarding the map of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) suggest it may be twice the size of its predecessor, GTA 5. An update from the community-driven mapping initiative has unveiled exciting new insights into the game’s expansive world.

For some time now, fans have speculated about the potential landscapes and cities for GTA 6, with many theories suggesting a departure from the franchise’s traditional settings. However, excitement surged when it was confirmed that Rockstar Games would bring back the iconic Vice City—this time, adapting it to a contemporary context. The announcement was met with enthusiasm from the fanbase.

Though enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the official release of GTA 6, Rockstar has provided glimpses of the updated Vice City alongside the broader territory of Leonida. Unfortunately, without an official map, fans have taken it upon themselves to piece together the information available through intensive community mapping efforts.

Recent Updates to the GTA 6 Mapping Project

In a recent update released in January, mapper YANIS completed the northern panhandle of the map, modifying it from its previously curved design to a flatter profile. This adjustment marks a significant milestone in their ongoing project.

New findings also indicate potential placements for certain features on the map. For instance, YANIS has proposed that the highly anticipated naval base might be located within the Florida Keys, corroborated by observations from the second GTA 6 trailer showcasing radar and air traffic control towers situated in the south.

What stands out most from this latest update is the rumored size of the GTA 6 map, which reportedly dwarfs previous iterations from GTA 5 and GTA 4. With estimates indicating that it could be at least double the size of the map in GTA 5, it presents an impressive leap in scale.

It is important to note that the layout provided is not yet official; players can expect more definitive details once Rockstar ramps up marketing efforts for GTA 6 in advance of its launch.

Taking-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has reaffirmed confidence in the current release date of November 19, 2026. He also indicated that marketing for the game will intensify in the summer months. Therefore, fans are encouraged to stay alert for additional announcements.
