Players embarking on their journey in Monster Hunter Wilds will initially encounter a Seikret during quests, but it won’t be under their command right away. In fact, some of the earliest missions may require players to traverse the wilderness without a mount altogether.

To gain full control over the Seikret, players must conquer the Quematrice during the Village of Whispering Winds quest. Upon defeating this formidable foe and returning to Base Camp, Y’sai will grant you the mount, enabling its use for future endeavors.

This mount proves to be an invaluable asset, as the game’s environments are generally too extensive to navigate efficiently on foot. Moreover, certain shortcuts can only be accessed by riding Seikret.
