Guide to Unlocking Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

Vaults have long been a staple in the Fortnite universe, each update introducing unique challenges for players to conquer. With the recent Lawless update, the methods to access these vaults have evolved, bringing fresh strategies into the mix. If you’ve stumbled upon a vault but are unsure how to break in, this guide will walk you through the steps to unlock vaults in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2.

The vaults introduced in the Fortnite Lawless update are overflowing with valuable loot, making them high-traffic areas filled with potential conflict. Before attempting to access these vaults, ensure you’re equipped with a solid arsenal of new Fortnite weapons to fend off nearby adversaries.

Unlocking a Vault in the Fortnite Lawless Update

To open a vault, start by locating Thermite, which can be found in treasure chests or as ground loot. Once you’ve acquired Thermite, equip it like you would with any other weapon. Look for the blue indicator on the vault and toss the Thermite onto it.

After a brief waiting period, the vault will begin to crack open. To expedite this process, it’s crucial to target the weak spots when they become visible. While any weapon can be employed for this task, using the Plasma Burst Laser or the Rocket Drill will increase your effectiveness. Keep in mind that these two weapons will only become available following the v34.10 update.

Be aware that upon activating the Thermite, a swarm of NPCs will rush in to take you down. Thus, it’s essential to remain vigilant against both PVP and PVE enemies. Once you’ve finally broken into the vault, you’ll be rewarded with rare chests and valuable Dill Bits.
