Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 stands out as one of the premier PC game releases of the year, serving as a testament to the remarkable capabilities of CryEngine. This title provides a seamless gaming experience across various hardware configurations, eliminating any stuttering issues that can detract from gameplay. It’s a refreshing change in the realm of open-world games, and credit goes to Warhorse Studios for their exceptional work.
The game is enhanced with support for both DLSS and FSR technologies, which are designed to boost performance. However, it is important to note that the current implementation of DLSS in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is somewhat dated. The introduction of the new DLSS 4 transformer model represents a significant leap in visual fidelity, making it beneficial for players to consider upgrading their DLSS version.
Upgrading Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to DLSS 4
As of now, the game is utilizing DLSS version 3.7. While this version is functional, it doesn’t compare to the advancements offered by DLSS 4. The newer model allows players to select a lower quality preset while still achieving superior visuals compared to DLSS 3, leading to better performance and reduced quality loss.
Players can upgrade their DLSS version through several methods. While manually dragging the latest DLL file is an option, utilizing specific tools can streamline the process and allow users to upgrade DLSS versions for multiple games.
Using the NVIDIA Application
NVIDIA has refined its application, enabling users to directly update the DLSS version from within the program. To begin, ensure you have the most recent version of the NVIDIA App, which can be downloaded here.
- Log in to the application and click on the “Graphics” tab.
- Your game library should automatically populate. If it does not, use the three dots to add additional folders for scanning.
- Select Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 from the list of games.
- Scroll down to find the section labeled “Driver Settings”.
- In the Driver Settings, choose DLSS Override – Model Presets.

- Select “Latest” under “Use same settings for all DLSS technologies”.

Upon completing these steps, the NVIDIA App will automatically implement the latest DLSS version for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Using DLSS Swapper
For those seeking a more reliable method to update DLSS versions, DLSS Swapper is my preferred tool. It not only facilitates DLSS updates but also allows for upgrading FSR and XeSS versions.
- Download the latest release from GitHub and install it.
- Launch DLSS Swapper, which will automatically scan your game library for any titles utilizing DLSS, including Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

- In the filter options at the top right, check the box for “Hide games with no swappable items” to narrow the results to games that have DLSS or FSR support.
- Click on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to bring up the specific settings window.
- Initially, the DLSS version will display as 3.7.10.

- Select the latest DLSS version, currently v310.2.1 (which remains under the DLSS 4 umbrella).
- First, click the download button on the right, followed by selecting Swap.

With these simple steps, the DLSS version will update both within DLSS Swapper and the game itself. Players can then experiment with lower quality DLSS presets for even better performance without compromising on visual quality. Based on my experience, even the performance preset can yield impressive visuals at 1440p, a remarkable improvement over DLSS 3.
