Haliey Welch has firmly squashed the speculation surrounding her alleged lawsuit targeting the YouTube content creators associated with her viral ‘Hawk Tuah’ fame.
Despite encountering some backlash for attaining notoriety through her ‘Hawk Tuah’ interview with Tim & Dee TV back in June, Haliey Welch’s influence continues to expand.
As the host of a leading podcast on Spotify, Welch also advocates for animal welfare through her own initiative, Paws Across America.
With her growing notoriety, rumors circulated about her possibly taking legal action against the YouTube personalities Tim Dickerson and DeArius Marlow, who conducted the infamous ‘Hawk Tuah’ interview.
While various posts on X speculated about Welch planning to pursue legal recourse against Dickerson and Marlow, she dismissed these claims outright.
“Fake news,” she commented alongside a picture of herself dressed as Elle Woods from Legally Blonde.

Welch further reinforced her stance through another tweet, stating, “If I were to sue, it would be public, but I guess some are just chasing clout.”

However, in a contrasting view, Marlow hinted at a different narrative. “Not fake news; I’m dropping a backstory video on YouTube with all the details,” he commented on TikTok.

Previously, in July, Welch sought to trademark the catchy ‘Hawk Tuah’ phrase, aiming to utilize it for various kitchen condiments, including BBQ and hot sauces.
While Welch appears to be staying ahead of the YouTubers, Dickerson and Marlow claimed in an interview with the New York Times that her fame is largely due to their exposure.
“At the end of the day, nobody would recognize her if we hadn’t highlighted her and shared it,” stated Marlow. “Many viewers who hadn’t seen our content before think we’ve just gained traction from this one clip. People act like we’re unknowns when we had a platform before this,” he elaborated.
Even with the prospect of a YouTube video detailing the situation looming, Welch seems unfazed.
Her supporters continue to rally around her, as many fans eagerly lined up to meet her at Dreamhack Atlanta during her inaugural Kick stream.
