Helldivers 2 Director Applauds Hilarious Mod Featuring Master Chief and Lightning McQueen

A bizarre Helldivers 2 modification has caught the eye of the game’s Director, who has given his approval.

The concept of Helldivers 2 is rather peculiar when you stop to consider it. A totalitarian space regime, fixated on flags, sacrifices countless enthusiastic civilians to fight against the onslaught of bugs and robots.

Upon delving further into the lore, it is revealed that the bugs were actually an inside job and that we were the ones who initiated their emergence through our use of robots. However, if I were to propose such heretical ideas to the loyal Helldivers 2 community, I would surely be reported to the nearest Democracy Officer.

To make Helldivers 2 even more bizarre, one could send Master Chief, Buzz Lightyear, and Star-Lord to face off against Lightning McQueen. Although mods are typically discouraged in online games, Game Director Johan Pilestedt appears to embrace this idea.

A video has recently been shared on X showcasing a group of gamers who have boosted the intensity of Helldivers 2 by replacing character models with the same icons mentioned earlier. The initial post claimed that the modders from PCMR were mocking Arrowhead and PlayStation as they modified the game.

“Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead, is amused by the situation as well. In response to the mesh swaps, he commented, “This is quite amusing. I am impressed by the capability of doing these mods despite the engine lacking support for them.”

Pilestedt shared that his beginnings as a developer were in modding communities, and he has a special appreciation for them. He expressed his desire to create a game in the future that fully embraces modding.

Despite his one caveat, he acknowledged, “The issue arises if it begins to affect other players who wish to play the original game or utilize key elements such as the Galactic War.”Therefore, feel free to create your ideal matches as long as you are simply enjoying the game.
