After just a few days on the market, Prismatic Evolutions has emerged as one of the most coveted and high-priced expansions within the Pokémon TCG’s Scarlet and Violet era. The much-admired Eeveelutions, in particular, are fetching prices that reach into the thousands of dollars.

Leading up to the release, enthusiasts anxiously anticipated the launch, fueled by circulating rumors about limited stock. This concern proved valid as many fans struggled to secure pre-orders for this special expansion. With its stunning Eeveelutions and rare holo cards, including the Poke Ball and Master Ball editions, the collectibility of Prismatic Evolutions has eclipsed even that of Paldean Fates.

The anticipated scarcity became a reality, with statements from The Pokémon Company confirming limited availability. As a result, local game shops and major retail outlets saw their inventories vanish almost instantaneously on launch day. This overwhelming demand has caused remarkable spikes in card values, with numerous cards selling for over $100 each.

The Umbreon Phenomenon: A Price Surge

The most valuable cards from this set prominently feature the fan-favorite Eeveelutions. As reported by TCGPlayer, the Sylveon ex Special Illustration cards are currently valued at $500, while Leafeon ex Special Illustration cards hold a price of around $400. However, the spotlight is on the Umbreon Master Ball holo, with a value of approximately $350.

Yet, the true standout is the Umbreon Special Illustration Rare, which has skyrocketed in value to over $1,700. Similar to the hype surrounding the Umbreon VMAX Special Illustration card from the Sword and Shield’s Evolving Skies expansion, this new Umbreon card has emerged as the top prize, with collectors eager to spend significantly to add it to their collections.

Furthermore, TCGPlayer listings indicate that the highest price recorded for this card has reached an astounding $2,000, marking it as a remarkable catch for the lucky few who manage to obtain it.

Securing any of these highly valuable cards is no small feat. Notably, Prismatic Evolutions is not offered as a traditional Booster Box, and the collection sets containing booster packs are exceedingly rare. While The Pokémon Company has indicated a commitment to restocking, the overwhelming demand makes it unlikely that card values or the prices for unopened sets will decrease in the near future.
