BLACKPINK’s Lisa has risen to global superstardom, but her path was paved with significant challenges, particularly in mastering the Korean language as a foreign K-pop trainee.

Initially, Lisa struggled with fluency, primarily communicating in English with her fellow trainees. According to her Korean language instructor at YG Entertainment, this limited her progress in mastering Korean.“At first, Lisa primarily spoke English with other trainees, so her Korean didn’t improve very quickly, ” the teacher explained.
