Cosmetics in Towerborne operate similarly to Transmogrification in World of Warcraft or Glamour in Final Fantasy XIV. They allow players to personalize their look by overlaying new styles on their currently equipped gear, offering a more flashy appearance. Importantly, cosmetics do not enhance character stats; they are purely for aesthetic purposes.

To obtain cosmetics in Towerborne, you must progress through the Primary questline until you can speak to Ogden at the Belfry. This unlocks Writs currency and Curios, special caches that provide various rewards, including cosmetics. Additionally, you can unlock Premium Caches using Curio Cores as you advance.

Once you have acquired some cosmetics, visit your Character’s Loadout Menu, which displays every equipped piece in your gear set. Choose an item, and a ‘Cosmetics’ option will appear at the bottom of the screen. Selecting it will open a menu showing all available cosmetic pieces for that type of gear. Choose a cosmetic you like, and it will transform the appearance of that gear piece.

In addition to a wide variety of cosmetic options, you can modify your character’s physical appearance at any time by visiting the Facewright, located in the central plaza of the Belfry, adjacent to Paloma’s companion Mirror. Look for the blue face icon to find it.

Interact with the Facewright and the Character Customization menu you used at the beginning of the game will appear, offering the same options as before. There is no cost associated with using the Facewright, so feel free to change your character’s appearance as frequently as you wish.
